Holy smokes folks. It’s looking to be a big weekend for 4 Colour 8 Bit. And we hope you can make it down for some of the action. Here are some of the big things going on...

Free Comic book day:
Just as it sounds we’re giving away free comic books from a number of established publishers and you’re welcome to a few yourself just for showing up.

Shadomoor Release Tournament:
The new block of Magic the Gathering, Shadowmoor, has released today. We’re kicking it off Saturday with a sealed deck tournament. Get your hands on the new set and get a foil version of the popular card “Vexing Susher.” If you hate counterspells, this card’s for you.

Blow Your Allowance:
You might not know Erin “IvyClimber” Robinson by name, but if you’ve seen an issue of Golden Words in the last 4 years you might know her as the one who did that comic that’s been on your fridge all semester. She has 4 years of solid work to show for her stay in Kingston and we’re excited to be selling her book in the store. You can have her 54 page anthology of awesome for only $17.95.

Its time for our Smash doubles tourney!
Bring a partner in our 32 man multi-player tournament on Sunday the 13th of April

The details...

Smash Bros Brawl Tournament : Sunday April 13th 12:00pm - 9:00pm
$15 per group
All money goes into the tournament's prize pool.
Max 32 players. Spots are filling quick so hurry up!

4 groups of 8 will be given an hour to meet at the store and compete in 3 five minute timed games.

The semi finals and finals will also take place in the Fanatics sports lounge's "private sky box" open to everyone with free playing after. It should be a great night. So even if you're not entered, come see the action and play free!

Important info for participants :
We'll do our best to supply controllers, but participants are welcome to bring their own gamecube, and classic controllers.

Feel free to research controls on gamefaqs etc. to ensure you have an idea of what you're doing before you come because there's not going to be any practice rounds.

Also feel free to come in anytime and warm up with our store copy of Smash Bro's Brawl.

I'm having the sneaking suspicion that our humble little web page is about to get a lot more popular...

Welcome to 4 Colour 8 Bit comics and games. This website is mostly a vessel to a more professional e-mail address for the time being, but while we have your attention we might as well tell you all about the shop.

Located in downtown Kingston Ontario 4 Colour 8 Bit strives to offer our customers comics and video games, and related merchandise at a fair price in a store you can be proud and comfortable to shop in.

We also have art gallery space in the back and are excited to announce our new showing of wood paintings by Genna Kusch and Morgan Wedderspoon.
March 27th-June-15th come out and feel classy.

4 Colour 8 Bit will be one of the three stores involved with running King Con. Kingstons biggest (and possibly only) gaming convension. This saturday

Tickets $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Available for puchase at 4-Colour/8-Bit, Minotaur, and Nexus.

Events include Warhammer Fantasy/40k, Flames of War, Magic, RPG's, Settlers Of Catan, Table Hockey, and more!

Evening Soiree to follow on site! Door prizes to be won!

We at 4 Colour 8 Bit are excited to announce that our first shipment of Smash Bros Brawl should be in on time for the Sunday release! This means we can confidently announce our tournament!

Smash Bros Brawl Tournament : Sunday March 9th 12:00pm - 9:00pm
$5 entry, $3 with pre-order. All money goes into the tournament's prize pool.
Max 32 players. Spots are filling quick so hurry up!

Sorry folks. It's been a busy season and we simply never got around to updating this page as much as we wanted. Not to mention having nobody specific to do it means nobody does it. So while I've been updating the more official smoothed out store times, I figured I would mention some of the other things we're working on lately:

Nintendo DS nights. Wednesdays at 7-10.

Come on in and bring your Nintendo DS and play networked games with others. No games? No problem. Many games feature download play letting up to 8 people play with only one cartridge!

Smash Bros tournament : March 9th. "Show us your moves."

We're working on a Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournament in the store. $5 entry fee or $3 with a Brawl pre-order. Up to 32 players will be competing to become the best brawler in an all day tournament. You can also warm up with us anytime by stopping in and playing Smash Bros Melee in the demo area.

Games We're loving now : No More Heros(Wii), Burnout Paradise(Ps3 & Xbox)

Walking into October

It's been a great first month, thanks to everyone who's joined us from the start!

The new store copies of Heavenly Sword and War-hawk continue to show off the demo area's set up.

We've also established our comics suppler so it's easy as pie for you to order whatever you want through the store's e-mail, phone or face-book group.
